Amusing and comprehensive summary. Just for informational purposes, in the U.S. Armed Forces, Army MPs also handle rear area security, along with base defense forces and tactical combat forces.

Hiya! Yes, very similar in the UK - MPs are tasked with a lot of rear area security, but as rear area security is an 'all arms' game and my section on them was getting quite long, I didn't dwell on it for brevity. Not sure if it is the same in the US, but the Royal Military Police also hold the responsibility for close protection of VIPs in-theatre.
